Manaiakalani Digital Fluency Intensive Day 1 - 30/07/2
To far - Too fast.- Overwhelmed!!!!!!
First session takeaways.
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
1. "You are not empowered/motivated if you write a story for the teachers red pen. "
2. The importance of equity
3. Already using Learn - create - share as a basis for teaching and learning, however now know more about its effectiveness from research carried out by Manaiakalani project.
Organising google drive. Huge help with my drive and docs.
Will be spending time here and passing it on.
A great digital bubble - loved the smaller workspace and 1 on 1 when stuck!!
DEEP DIVE - Can't wait for HAPARA. groups
Google Docs
Loved the Voice typing aspect for student struggling to get thoughts down efficiently - tried it out for myself and if I can do it - my students can. Also can be used for oral assessment
Not sure I have gained any confidence with anything today as it was all too much, too fast, lots of time needed to practice in an already time poor environment at school. Won't be going here it my personal life for a while. Whew!!!

Really struggled with the Doc poster as couldn't get images in correctly.
Great process to set up though not sure about doing it all on DFI sandpit thingy.

Kia ora Glenda,
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the way you are keeping on and making the learning happening. Perseverance is the word I'm thinking of.
I agree voice typing is a fabulous tool.

Kia ora Glenda,
ReplyDeleteWell done you for keeping your head above the crashing waves! If I can be of any help to support you in this DFI journey just call out. Bit tricky being at school on Fridays when you are on the course, but please just email me if you need to. Sometimes just going through something with someone else on the end of the line is all you need to solve a tricky process and move forward more confidently. Nā, M
